Dear Ownbey Family,
I talked w/CRISTINA this morning, getting an update on MEL. She and the family are busy today, packing up and moving things to Mel's new room at Sunrise on Randolph (NOT on Providence); it's right near Billingsley Rd, on the Mint Museum Side. Mel will move in tomorrow.
His mobility has greatly improved -- even better than last fall. He's able to walk w/a walker, and everyone is happy about that. However, his cognition has suffered. He remembers names, his childhood home, the Barclay Downs Swim Club (where Jack has been going swimming w/Marcelo's girls), but does NOT remember their former house on Manning or their present apt. on Cherokee. He thinks he's at some sort of resort and wonders why Cris can't stay...
Adrian, his wife, and new baby are coming to town this weekend. Lucia and Jack are flying back to England on Sunday.
As to ways WE can help: 1) please WAIT till I hear from Cris or Susan Mobley before you go visit; obviously Mel needs to get familiar w/his new surroundings first; I'll let you know. 2) send cards. 3) Cris will also let me know when we can help in other ways.
