Traditional Music and Organist since 2003.
After auditions to which all music ministry participants were invited, and their input encouraged, Jimmy was the overwhelming choice of our 13-person search committee. The Staff-Parish Relations Committee acted on our recommendation. We considered 140 candidates but were quickly won over by his gift of music, and an obvious passion for sharing it with the congregation and community. Everyone with whom we spoke sang Jimmy’s praises in terms of energy and enthusiasm, an ability to inspire singers and musicians, and a deep commitment to use music in all forms for the glory of God.
As a former church colleague said of Jimmy, “He is one of a kind.”

James Robert Jones has been hired as Director of Music
June 2, 2010 Greetings! (more . . .)
We are thrilled to announce that James Robert Jones has been hired as Director of Music. Jimmy, as most everyone calls him, begins his ministry July 19, involved in all phases of the musical life of the congregation. He comes from Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, where he has served as Director of
Traditional Music and Organist since 2003.
