2009.09.04 Update Libby Claire McGarity

Click for complete writeup . . .september 3rd is here. her surgery is done! i never knew i would be so excited about a date & dread it at the same time. we got no sleep last night & were up well before the alarm went off. but our little pips slept like a champ! last night was really stressful. matt & i tried to "make normal" for all the other kids but there was no doubt we were out of sorts. we made it through dinner, bath time & bedtime with only a few tears...mostly on our part. we settled libby claire in & got all packed up. we were out the door around 5:15 am. she was so happy to get in the car & loved the lights on 77. we got checked into levine & they brought us up to the 5th floor. she enjoyed 50 laps in her wagon around the floor, conversations with nurses & meeting a cardiac patient, maggie, who was close to her age. we pre-op talked with doctors & by 7:15am she had her dose of versid. she became relaxed & willing to climb into the warm blanket nancy had. she was taken back at 7:24 am. i cried so hard when i saw our baby girl in the arms of another mama, singing her off to the OR. nancy is awesom . . .Click for complete writeup . . .
