Dear Ownbey folks, (I have heard from 11 people by 3:30, thanks, keep um coming . .) Willard asked me to send his OWNBEY MESSAGE until we get the bugs worked out on his distribution list.
Please help us by replying back to me to: 1>Confirm you received this OWNBEY MESSAGE email. 2>Tell me whether or not you want to receive the MESSAGES in the future. 3>Tell me if you want to be removed from all mailings. 4> Advise me of any changes in addresses or other info we need for the class. I will get to the correct person. (If I do not hear from you I will assume something is wrong in the distribution and will contact you by phone, etc, so save us both some time and write back. thanks.)
Periodically feel free to check our official web page for lots of Ownbey information. (Click Here). and Periodically feel free to Check our Unofficial Blog (Click Here) for copies of all MESSAGES and other info and links about Ownbey Life. Let me know if you cannot get the links to work or if you need the username and password. Thanks Don 3/30/2010 2:30 p.m.
Below from President Willard Gourley is the OWNBEY MESSAGE for the week ending Sunday April 4, 2010: Don Redding is acting as my courier. After having finally prepared a proper mailing list, my AOL system has put a block on the entire message because of a person who was on my mailing list and is no longer and AOL is saying their mailbox is full and, therefore, will not send it to the balance of the class. Don volunteered to take my message and send on to the class.
Don Hammer has the lesson for this Sunday. He will use selected Easter stories.
I hope all of you saw James Howell's article in Sunday's paper titled "Has rancor become unbeatable foe? His message was great and I particularly use of the beginning words of the song from the Broadway musical "The man from La Mancha". TO DREAM THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM, TO FIGHT THE UNBEATABLE FOE, TO RIGHT THE UNRIGHTABLE WRONG...TO TRY WHEN YOUR ARMS ARE TOO HEAVY. ETC.
I will be seeking out a vocalist who might lead us in song. I believe that would be too much of a challenge for Lou B. Look forward to seeing you Sunday. Willard 3/30/2010

Subject: update on Sadri son-in-law Date: Wed, 10 Mar 2010 07:53:18 EDT From: Reatha Andrew < Dear Ownbey Family, MARTHA SADRI called me yest'y to update me on their son-in-law's health. ROBERT did have the pancreas surgery; however, its condition had progressed too much to do the "whipple" procedure, so they will begin chemo in the next few weeks. Nine-year-old granddaughter TRUDY will be coming to stay w/MARTHA and FRED this Thursday for a long weekend, offering a bit of a break. Ken Garfield "Speech" to Samaritan House Anniversary Lunch

Ken Garfield Ken, That is absolutely wonderful. I look forward to reading it. I always enjoy your articles. We have had "Amazing Grace" as a subject in our Sunday School class at least 3 times in the last few months. I will put this email on our Blog and when available a link to your article; let me know if you want it removed. http://ownbeyss.blogspot.com/ don 3/5/09 ---- On 3/5/2010 9:58 AM, Garfield, Ken wrote: They wanted me to give a speech, I suggested instead that they pick a homeless person who stayed at Samaritan House and I would lead a conversation with him. It turns out the fellow was a concert violinist who had had a flourishing career in music until alcohol landed him on the street. He’s clean and sober now, and after our Interview in front of the crowd, he played Amazing Grace on his violin. I’m going to write about it for our church website…Ken ---- From: don Sent: Friday, March 05, 2010 9:56 AM To: Garfield, Ken Subject: Re: Don, I'm sorry I can't make it to Bible study today..... Thanks, we missed you . We had 8 folks there and at last minute (well Wednesday) our leader for the month had to cancel and I was the (less prepared) leader again. I know you did a good job at the Samaritan House Anniversary Lunch. Would love to have heard you, what was the subject? thanks, don ---------- On 3/4/2010 9:15 AM, Garfield, Ken wrote: I’m speaking at the Samaritan House anniversary lunch, that’s a home for homeless folks after they get out of the hospital…..See you next time, Ken
Tue update on DOTTIE from Billy :-) Date: Tue, 02 Mar 2010 17:34:50 EDT From: Reatha Andrew Dear Ownbey Family, Got this update from BILLY this aft'n: -------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Reatha! Mom was discharged from Presbyterian Main Hospital yesterday (Monday) afternoon to Sardis Oaks where she will undergo a couple of weeks of intense physical therapy to enable her to return back to her home. She seems to be doing well and only needs to build up her strength and stamina in order for her to come back to Colony Road. Her room number at Sardis is as follows: Room 112 #2. We don't expect her stay there to be very long and she was evaluated this morning from a PT's perspective. Some additional occupational therapy may be necessary, but all in all, I think a quick in and out will find her back at her home before too very long. I thank you for getting this information out to your SS classmates and hope and pray that all is well with you and your loved ones. Take care and God's Peace to you, Billy Tobias
Subject: another (MAJOR) boo-boo... Date: Tue, 02 Mar 2010 14:22:37 EDT From: Reatha Andrew Dear Ownbey Family, I just got my mail for the day, and in it was a returned card which I had sent to DOTTIE. It was stamped "NOT DELIVERABLE AS ADDRESSED - UNABLE TO FORWARD." Turns out I had MISnumbered her address -- and when I checked, it was the one I sent out to our class... Oops! [so if you used that address, you, too, will be getting your card back -- sorry] (See email for ) her CORRECT address . . . . I saw Susan Mobley at church yest'y, and she said that Dottie will be moving (or has already moved) to a rehab facility -- perhaps Mercy Rehab. Susan will keep me posted. MARTHA and FRED SADRI were in class Sunday and asked for our prayers for their son-in-law, ROBERT SUNDBERG. He's SUSAN's husband (in his mid-40s) and has developed jaundice. He's having a procedure this week that will hopefully help. They live in the Atlanta area. Anything else, anyone? Peace,Reatha - Tue - 2:15pm
