Dear SS Family,
I emailed JOYCE and LAURA WITHERINGTON, who live in Wilmington, to see how they had weathered the storm.
Below, you will find Laura's response.
Also, news from Ann Arbor, MICH:
The
ERICKSONs g'daughter HAS arrived! EVELYN was born early Sunday --
2:30am -- weighing 6-lb, 12-oz, and sporting a headful of dark hair.
Later in the day momma KATHRYN's BP spiked, so they have been trying to
get that stabilized before she and Evelyn can come home. Obviously
ELLEN and GARY will be staying longer than expected, but that's what
g'parents are for, right?
Sending loving thoughts to them, the Troxler family, the Witheringtons, and any others in need of special TLC.
Peace,
Reatha - Wed - 1:30pm

Subject: Re: Joyce & Laura: how ARE you???
We were fortunate to evacuate before the storm hit. We have been trying to get in touch with neighbors to see how the properties have fared in the storm.
1. Mom’s house is without power now, and two trees came down but landed in the street. No other damage was reported.2. I have heard nothing about my condo, or from my neighbors, but when it rains hard in the past, the back yard floods, so there may be damage to the inside.
Other than that, we are nomads until the NCDMV tells us we can come back in.
Thanks for checking in. We are happy to be alive and kicking.
