| Carl L. Hawn Mr. Hawn, of Charlotte, was born March 13, 1925 in Belmont, NC, and passed away March 12, 2009, one day before his eighty-fourth birthday. Carl was married to Frances R. Hawn for fifty-eight years. He served his country in the Army during World War II. Carl graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In Charlotte, NC, he worked for over forty years at GMAC. He was a long time member of Myers Park United Methodist Church. Upon retirement, Carl and Frances followed their hearts to Daytona Beach, FL, a place they had loved for many years. They bought a beautiful condominium where they could see both the Halifax River and the Atlantic Ocean. Carl enjoyed being out in the sun and walking on the beach for miles. For over ten years, Carl was a loving and devoted caretaker for Frances who had become ill. Frances passed away December 17, 2008. Carl is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday March 16, 2009, at Harry and Bryant Co. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
