Altho' some of our number will be attending the Music Ministry Luncheon upstairs in Jubilee Hall on Oct 28th, the rest of us will be celebrating in our classroom at our annual BBQ :-)

[BTW: somehow we are $14 short, per the list being passed around in class -- app. 2 people marked PAID, got busy, and forgot to put money in the envelope...]Also we will be celebrating TWO b'day milestones: Bill Webb turned 90 last month and Ken Buker's 90th b'day is coming up this week (Tue Oct 23d). Both Linda and Anne are asking us to write down special remembrances we recall w/each man or special well wishes, and SEND THEM TO ME, please. I will collect them this next week and present them to Bill and Ken at our lunch.You can write them down and give them to me tomorrow in class... or mail them to me... or send me emails. Reatha Andrew....Linda's schedule that weekend will be rather "tight" -- she'll be returning from a reunion, but plans on leaving there early enough Sunday morning to get to Summit Place and get Bill ready to come to lunch :-) And the Bukers will be returning to town tomorrow after a week at the beach :-) Tomorrow's lesson will be led by Ace -- the final "chapter" of N.T.Wright's book, SIMPLY JESUS.Hope to see you then. 20120817 Reatha Update: Wesley Class joins us Sunday for Special Session with CEo of YWCA Kirsten Sikkelee, Socrates Class Change
Dear Ownbey Family,
1. Our class has invited the Wesley Class to join us this Sunday to hear Kirsten Sikkelee (on the Carol Douglas Empowering Series - spkr: Kirsten Sikkelee, YWCA-CEO ) xxxxxx They have graciously accepted, so to accommodate the size of our combined classes, we will MEET IN THE EXPANSION SPACE IN THE BASEMENT of the PLB. That's the area (w/all the chairs) nearest the finished part of the basement.
Several ways to get there:
a) Take the elevator off the PLB Lobby. After getting off, turn LEFT and proceed down the carpeted hall till the carpet ends, and... you are there!
b) Take the stairs off the PLB Lobby (across from the elevators). After getting downstairs, turn RIGHT and proceed down the carpeted hall till the carpet ends, and... you are there!
c) If you are coming from the PLB parking lot and entering the "front" door, take the BIG stairway down to the basement then turn LEFT and head across the basement to the grouping of chairs. That's where we'll be!
d) If you are coming from the PLB parking lot and entering from the "back" door, you can take either the stairs or the elevator. When you get to the basement, cut across the basement diagonally to the grouping of chairs :-)
2. Barbara Barden has been troubled a bit lately by her RA. She's getting her meds adjusted this week, so we hope that will provide her the needed relief.
3. Please adjust your lesson schedule per the following:
Sep 2 - bk: SOCRATES (pt.1) - by Paul Johnson - led by Chick
Sep 9 - bk: SOCRATES (pt.2) - by Paul Johnson - led by Chick
Oct 14 - bk/dvd: ON THE ROAD WITH JESUS - Teaching and Healing, ch.1 - by Ben Witherington - led by Lou
4. Since we'll NOT be in our classroom this week, i will NOT be bringing any "thinking of you" cards. We'll resume our usual "card routine" on the 26th.

Even if you've never felt that God was speaking to you, do you think that it's possible? Must it be thru a "burning bush" or some other "extreme" measure, or can it be thru simple, mundane experiences?
