On March 19 at 7:00 p.m. in Jubilee Hall, Dr. Philip Kenneson, author of Life on the Vine, will explore what it means for us to be more than busy religious consumers, and how life in Christian community can lead us to be a spirit-filled people who are prayerful and worshipful in all aspects of our life.
Dr. Kenneson is Professor of Theology and Philosophy at Milligan College in East Tennessee. Kenneson earned his Ph.D. in Theological Ethics from Duke University in 1991. He is the author of numerous books, including Life on the Vine, cited by one reviewer as “An exciting, accessible, important book,” adding that “Kenneson understands the challenges the Christian church needs to face in relation to American culture. His disarmingly wise and well-developed reflections call us to transformed and enlivened Christian discipleship.”
This book is being studied in small groups throughout the church during Lent. Several hundred people are involved in the conversations. Details: Minister of Discipleship Rev. George Ragsdale at 704-295-4840 or george@mpumc.org.
